Matti Ahlqvist, Executive Director, Gothenburg Site AstraZeneca

Matti is leading AstraZeneca’s Gothenburg site strategy and activities towards the vision of being one of the best R&D sites in the world. Matti is representing AstraZeneca towards external stakeholders, he is one of the driving forces of GoCo Health Innovation City and is active on the board of directors for West Sweden Chamber of Commerce and as a chairman for the trade and industry group of Göteborg&Co.

Matti holds a MSc in Physical Chemistry and an executive MBA from Gothenburg University. Matti joined AstraZeneca in 2000 and is the author of more than 20 patents and publications. He was part of pioneering digital health and has a broad scientific interest with numerous global leadership roles throughout the whole drug development value chain.
