Helena L Nilsson is Director of Regional Development in Region Västra Götaland. Prior to this position she has been Manager of the environmental department and Manager of the research and development department in the Region.

Helena L Nilsson has also held positions in the Swedish Research Institute sector and as a consultant.

As a policy expert, Mrs Nilsson has had different commissions of trust. For example, as member of an Expert Group to DG Research related to financing instruments. Mrs Nilsson’s background is in international economic geography and business administration.
